America's Knitting is officially one year old! Honestly, it's gone by so fast and I've learned so much and met so many wonderful people. I'd love to thank everyone around me that helps me all the time, from my friends that encourage me, my husband who supports this venture, and my web designer and her staff who help in the ways that they do, to my field reporters; thank you everyone.....and you know who you are~
America's Knitting was born a year ago to support the LYS. I think having and running a business is very hard work and our economy is always fluctuating. The brick and mortar yarn shop is open, not only to support our habit, but encourage us, teach us, and inspire us. Private enterprise is good for our economy and good for this country.
This website is a great resource for the traveling knitter. It doesn't matter where you are going or why, but chances are, you are going to wonder if there is a yarn shop nearby. Use our clickable map to find out. Get yourself a map and some directions while your at it.....just enter a starting address, whether it's the address of your hotel, your friend or family and find out how far away this business is and where.
The "spotlight" page is a place where I highlight local yarn shops around the country, authors, designers and yarn companies. We don't just talk about the people, but the places. In honor of my one year anniversary, I am showing my first "spotlight", Wild & Wooly Yarn Shop in Poulsbo Washington. Look into the archive section to see what we've been doing for the past year!
Tune into the projects page and see what me and my friends are up to. Some times we have a theme and sometimes not. If you are a yarn shop and would like to send along a photo to brag up your shop - DO IT! If you knitters would like to send by a photo of a project you finished that you are proud of - DO IT! I am here for you, and love seeing what everyone's up to.
Have some cake and champagne on me and HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA'S KNITTING~
Fondly,
Mary*

It's slated to open sometime in September and I'll have a spotlight complete with pictures of the store and Port Orchard. Debbie is very excited and has some incredible partners, one being Lisa Ellis designer. CHECK THIS OUT
